We work to raise the profile of inclusive cycling in the North East and put in place the building blocks for a more inclusive cycling culture.
We work to form a regional disability cycling network and secure sources of funding to provide medium to long term support to develop adaptive cycle hubs and schemes.
We also focus on improving the advocacy and representation of people with disabilities on decision-making groups, committees and boards so that lived experience is used in the planning and implementation of new infrastructure.
Rise has been working with national charity Wheels4All to connect them within the region.
We have supported Wheels4All with:
- an audit of the opportunities and facilities across the area to support the formation of a regional disability cycling network
- co-ordinating the submission of a major funding application to support resourcing of adaptive cycle provision within the North East.
