An innovative new workplace wellbeing programme launches today (14 October 2024) – with the aim of boosting the health of North East workers.
Rise Workplace Wellbeing launches its package of health and wellbeing e-learning, designed to help organisations to improve the mental and physical health of their workforce.
There are three programmes available, created using the decades of workplace wellbeing expertise at Rise, alongside contributions from leading experts in health and wellbeing, fitness and menopause.
The programmes cover topics such as physical activity, mental health, menopause, and nutrition, and include interactive videos and e-learning content, alongside fitness videos and downloadable resources.
And 100% of the income generated from Rise Workplace Wellbeing products is invested back into Rise’s charitable work – so not only can organisations boost their workers’ health, they’ll be supporting work to transform lives across the North East.
The launch comes as a major review has termed the UK “the literal sick man of Europe”, with the average level of employee absence at its highest level for over a decade.
The North East is one of the worst-hit areas, with one of the highest levels of inactivity due to sickness – with the picture further complicated by widespread health inequalities across the region.
Clare Morley, CEO at Rise, said: “Healthy businesses need healthy workers. And healthier workers will encourage a more prosperous North East economy.
Improving health in the workplace is an important and vital area of work in Rise’s overall mission to tackle inequalities in communities across our region – and improve the health and wellbeing of our population.
Rise Workplace Wellbeing’s new offer can support organisations to enhance and improve the health and wellbeing of their workers – while contributing to benefits such as higher staff retention rates, more productive workers, and fewer work days lost due to sickness.”
Helen Tong, director of commercial, marketing and communications at Rise, adds: “With workplace absence at a record high, organisations and businesses must focus on their employees’ health and wellbeing as an urgent priority.
“Rise Workplace Wellbeing can support this priority, providing an innovative e-learning programme direct to your workforce, and offering support and insight into how organisations can progress with their health and wellbeing agenda.
“Rise has years of experience in supporting organisations to enhance the health of their workforce. Through our work, we’ve seen that a dedicated focus on workplace wellbeing can lead to better morale and job satisfaction, leading to better productivity – while workers enjoy improvements to their overall health and happiness.”
